Large companies in the sector are preparing to increase installed capacity to 8,000 megawatts (MW) by 2030, helping to achieve the environmental goals of the country, which has already committed to generating 35 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2024. There is an urgency to invest in renewable energies in Mexico, a fact that points to the need for policies that promote wind and solar energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and carry out an energy transition that is committed to achieving Net Zero, in line with international sustainability goals.
