In Mexico, 257 thousand new green jobs could be created, a contribution of around 3% of the Gross Domestic Product GDP (as of the third quarter of 2018) and an accumulated investment between 2018 and 2024 equivalent to 40 billion dollars (almost 800 billion pesos), all this if the goal of generating 35% of electricity with renewable energies, established both in the General Law on Climate Change (2012) and ratified in the Energy Transition Law (2015), is achieved.
