Investments totaling up to US$10 billion in wind power projects remain stuck due to various factors, reports the Mexican Wind Energy Association (AMDEE). Approximately 5,000MW, which represent nearly 30 wind power generation projects, could be harnessed from these projects. The projects have not materialized due to the non-release of certain permits by the CRE, or because they have not received approval for their Social Impact Assessments (SIAs), among other regulatory hurdles, states Hector Treviño, Executive Director, AMDEE.
